Tupelo King of the Hill Triathlon

Come join the fun on August 2nd, 2008 at the Third Annual King of Hill Triathlon at Tombigbee State Park, in Tupelo, Mississippi.  The beautiful surroundings of the Park and the challenging course in and on its outskirts will provide participants with a great triathlon experience.  The race will begin at 8:00 am and a post race party will follow with awards presentations. This will be a chip timed race and will be sancioned by USAT.

When

August 2nd, 2008 at 8:00am (Please Note the earlier time change for the start.)  Transition will open at 6:00am. Park admission is 3.00 per vehicle.

Tombigbee State Park is located 6 miles southeast of Tupelo off Mississippi Hwy. 6. Park information and accommodations can be found at:  http://www.mdwfp.com/ search under Parks. 

Directions to Tombigbee State Park:

From US 78 take US-45 S via exit 86A toward Tupelo. Go 4.4 miles Take the Eason Blvd. exit. Turn Left onto Eason Blvd. East 1.7 miles Turn Right onto Briar Ridge Rd/(hwy 6). Continue to follow hwy 6. For 1.4 miles Turn Left onto State Park Rd. go 2.5 miles, and Tombigbee State Park will be on your right.

Swim

The .5 mile swim will be a time trial start this year. The order of the line up will be determined by when you sign up. So, in other words...the earlier you sign up, the earlier you start and the earlier you finish! BEAT THE HEAT!  SIGN UP EARLY!!!!!!

The 22 mile bike leaves the back of the Park and winds through some rolling hills of the surrounding area, several flat fast sections, and concludes through the front of the Park. There will be 1 aid station on the bike.

Run

The 4 mile run is an out and back within the confines of the Park.  There is shade along the run and aid stations will be located at every mile and the Finish Line. Back by popular demand will be Fire-hose guy offering a rainfall of relief.

Packet Pick Up: Packet pick up will be at Trails and Treads on Friday August 1st from 4pm till 8pm. Trails and Treads is located at 1715 Mccullough Blvd, Tupelo, MS. Click Here for a map to Friday August 1st packet pick up.

Race Day pick up: from 6:00am to 7:00am at the race site prior to a prompt 8:00am start.

Refund Policy

Athletes (individuals or relay teams) withdrawing on or before July 1, 2008 will receive a refund of their entry fee less a $30 administrative fee to recover fixed costs.  After July 1, 2008, there will be NO REFUNDS.  Please notify Tupelo Multisport LLC in writing (with your signature) if you must withdraw.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing of refunds, upon receipt of withdrawal.  Active.com refunds are done by check from Tupelo Multisport LLC, only.
